Hangin' On!

Whew! What a ride I am on. I don't necessarily like being pushed by my "to do's", but I am for sure this week. I zoomed back to Nashville to take 2 classes, write a paper, prepare schedules for a wedding this weekend. I fly out tomorrow at 7:30AM for Cleveland. Whew, that felt good to get out. I look forward to spending time with Jeff today, debriefing on the Exodus Conference more. I need like a day, to just sit and process. Check out my Exodus 2005 pics, over 225 of em. www.joshcoy.com

Exodus to Exodus

Where do I begin? Maybe my friend, Dave, who has been visiting me this past weekend could give you a better flavor here.
It's Monday morning July 18th, 2005. It's been 1 year since I've seen my friend David (future president of the USA) from Sacramento, CA. Tim is here as well! How crazy and fun is this!? We are all camping out at my place for a pre-Exodus experience to remember. If you're reading this and don't know, this is my 4th Exodus experience.
The times this weekend have been memorable to say the least...

Ah Ah Ahhh

Zechariah 4:6
.."This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.

Just when you think you’ve got it. Just when you think you’re in the clear. Reality sets in. Flesh was in the drivers seat. I can’t do it without Him. I’m sad. Yet walking in reality.

Equestrian Christian

This thought process came out of Refuge with Kyle Kellums, 7/1/2005.

We all know what being gun shy means and why horses need to be trained for battle by not running from the sound of gunfire. When the gun goes off in battle and the horse runs off, he’s no good for use. Let’s connect this to our walk. I want to be ready for battle, a tenacious warrior. Saying no to the flesh, standing firm, not being blown here and there . I want to hear and know my master’s voice and respond quickly to only what he says. Being immediately obedient.

Food on the Fourth

Here's what I made for our cookout, so good and EZ.

Turbo Hummus – Alton Brown (Good Eats)

2 to 3 cloves garlic
1 can garbanzo beans (chickpeas), drained and liquid reserved
2 to 3 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
A handful fresh parsley leaves
1 lemon, zested and juiced
Pinch freshly ground black pepper
Pinch kosher salt
1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
Chop the garlic finely in a food processor. Add the beans and 1/2 of the reserved liquid and process finely or to desired consistency. Add the peanut butter, parsley, lemon zest and juice, black pepper, and salt. Process until it forms a paste. Drizzle in the olive oil and process until it reaches the consistency of mayonnaise.

For your sanity, please serve with grilled pita, cucumbers, and tortilla chips.

Victimized!

There’s a first time for everything and this is mine. I attempted to pay my credit card bill today but was unable to. Turns out they blocked my account because of suspicious fraudulent behavior. How lovely. Turns out someone in Brazil has been cyber shopping for candy and clothing. Let me just say, he better have gotten a cool shirt. Here’s to you Visa Card, 100% fraud protection. I love how they gave me the third degree, like I was buying candy in brazil or something. Ha Ha. I wonder if they would consider the ipod as a fraudulent purchase as well.
