Encore 2005 (past review: Matt Lovell)

Encore was a success. Let me set the scene for you. Mitch and I flanked the front door of Josh's town home to greet and screen the guests (appearing as bouncers). We greeted each guest with this line (in a British accent): Welcome to Encore. It's a Brit pop club. Name, please!
After critiquing their outfits and insulting their American pride, we paraded the guests down the hallway and into the party scene, where we introduced them with celebrity names.
The party decor was a guest favorite (ala Matt Lovell) - lots of red lights, brown/red pinstriped fabric, a ginormous red lantern hanging from the ceiling, a variety of red flowers.
Josh Coy manned the bar and whipped up lovely fruit cocktails for the guests. (Our bar was, of course, intern/u-turn friendly - meaning no alcohol involved.)
A spread of chips and gourmet dips was set in the center of the room.
All of this was accompanied by a well-constructed iTunes playlist, courtesy of Josh Coy.
And we even had a celebrity appearance. Joy Williams (one of Josh's neighbors) graced the evening with her unannounced and ever-so-subtle presence.
So, Saturday was a most-delightful start to a new tradition - Encore, a Matt Lovell and Josh Coy experience. Next event - my twenty-first birthday.
