Look Closely

I live merely on a GPS coordinate of God's whole big deal here, no matter where I stand, the call is the same. I suffer from wanderlust. Thinking and saying things like, "what if I was there...what the he77 is my purpose here?" See, those are my "ultimate goals." Those end things are my goal. God's goal for me is this moment and whether I will obey Him or not. I was processing this as I showered and made my way to work today, I sense freedom in this. So, im trying to become friends with the mindset/truth that my fantasy of my future isn't my concern...it's as I choose to obey Him NOW, that he takes care of my future. Great care actually. Check out what my buddy Ozzie Chambers inspired me with this AM:

What is my vision of God’s purpose for me? Whatever it may be, His purpose is for me to depend on Him and on His power now. If I can stay calm, faithful, and unconfused while in the middle of the turmoil of life, the goal of the purpose of God is being accomplished in me. God is not working toward a particular finish— His purpose is the process itself.

It is the process, not the outcome, that is glorifying to God.

God’s training is for now, not later. His purpose is for this very minute, not for sometime in the future. We have nothing to do with what will follow our obedience, and we are wrong to concern ourselves with it. What people call preparation, God sees as the goal itself.

I Do Declare...

So, coffee is the detour on the highway of life that I like to visit, quite often. Yesterday I met a fella named Josh at the Carothers Rd. Starbucks, who continued to engage in conversation. Our conversation flowed to the topic: Espresso. I know my drinks and I love my drinks. Morning: Grande Drip Afternoon: Grande Soy Americano. Period. Until yesterday. This just in my world...Doppio Espresso con Panna. Begin with a generous amount of Whipped Cream in the bottom of the cup, continue to pour over the cream, 2 nutty shots of Espresso...the harmony of the Espresso and the muted cream is pure exstacy. Tip: swirl the cream around a bit before divulging.

In other news, Lance Bass came out yesterday.

The 48-Hour Film Project

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to be a part of the National 48 Hour Film Project in Nashville, TN. It's a nation-wide project that was active in our city this weekend. We had 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a film. We were informed of of genre on Friday night at 7PM, wrote till 9PM and began shooting at 9:30PM. The shoot lasted until 6:30AM the next morning, continuing at 9AM and lasting until 6PM, then it was off to the editors. My personal role was audio mixing and a small cameo as a reporter. The time limit for the project is 4-7 min. Take a look! Thank you for the experience my fellow cast and crew!

Exodus 2006 Photos

Normally, I would run to my ibook, plug in my camera and upload my photos right away...not so this year. Life is so full. I've uploaded them and would love to sit over coffee and give you the details. (lifts glass) Here's to old friends and new friends...whether we feel it or not, He is always worth it. Exodus 2006: reminded, encouraged, convicted, educated, motivated, connected, laughed, cried, worshipped.
photos @ joshcoy.com Enjoy.

btw, extra photos and thoughts would rock.

The Way I See It...

Of course, the Exodus 2006 conference in Indiana is almost indescribable. Know how it feels when you come back from a big adventure and want to make sure everyone feels your excitement? Yeah. Lots of details and images to come..stay tuned. On the same note, there was a Starbucks nestled between 2 corn fields and "The Way I See It" quotes are always fun to read...Starbucks' attempt at sparking conversations in this coffeehouse culture. I smuggled 2 of the cups home with me, simply because I enjoy what they say, both paralleling different areas of my journey right now. Here they are...

"The Way I See It #135"

Wrangling fear is the biggest challenge the world faces now and the challenge we all face, now and again, at our crossroads, in the dark moments, at those times we are asked to compromise, at those times when we know deep down that we must revolutionize our own lives."
Holly Morris author of "Adventure Divas: Searching the Globe for a New Kind of Heroine."

"The Way I See It #138"
The good life is the middle way between ambition and compassion, between action and reflection, between company and solitude, between hedonism and abstinence, between passion and judgment, between the cup of coffee and the glass of wine."
Jay McInerney author of "Bright Lights, Big City and the Good Life."
