It's All I Need
2 Peter 1:2-4
New King James Version (NKJV)
Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
1 Peter 1:22-23
New King James Version (NKJV)
22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit[a] in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever...
1 Corinthians 9:27 (NASB)
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
27 but I discipline (A)my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
New King James Version (NKJV)

The Latest
Well. What a week. I've got more challenges in my life than an episode of Survivor. Life, character, walk with God, leadership, and now my future. As of Monday, I am no longer working for the non-profit org I was with. I am now on the "job hunt." I'm excited, really. And scared. My thoughts at this point are, God is going to do something, it's just a matter of what? And this is His life, what does He want me to do? I'm seeking His direction and prayer is essential. What a journey I'm on!

White Knuckled Hopfeul
Isaiah 40:28-31 (NIV)
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Who's Leading Who?
I got to sit down with my mentor, Jeff, today. Ever been in those face to face times where you feel like you've run an emotional 5K? That was today over lunch. One of the many things he said that struck me deep was the topic of my goals and daily schedule. He asked, "Is your day dictating you or are you dictating your day?" I was like, my day dictates me. I have so much to pray about for this next season of my life. I want to be a man who sets goal and by God's strength, achieve them for Him. Lord, I need you in the details.
Whoa. Just realized this. Look how God is working this out in light of my recent post Hangin On.

Hating Evil Hurts Bad
This has been a point of prayer for my personal life recently. "God, please help me to love what you love and hate what you hate." So, to get a phone call from a friend who's flirting with sin and even going on dates with sin, moves my heart to deep hurt. Ever pray for something and the outcome isn't what you expect? "I'll pray for this rightous thing of hating what God hates..*bird chirps* *Julie Andrews breaks out in song** and everything will be better and wonderful!" Riiight. Case in point, praying for more understanding can do just that, allow you to feel what God feels, hating what He hates. Sad. Hurting. Hopeful.

Wedding Bells & Bros
I love them. I feel like I live life the deepest when I am with them. These are my bros. Not biological, but much deeper than that, spiritually. We have the same Father. The same Spirit. This unity I have with them and God is unparallel to any counterfeit I may have attempted to make fit.
I had the honor of being in my very very dear and close friend Ben Martin's wedding. He became one with Sara this past Sunday. It was an amazing honor to stand behind a man who is taking on the responsibility of marrying the beauty he has prayed to win, all these years. I wept long and hard, emoting the only way I felt I could. I love this man deeply and know He is a taste of what my Jesus offers and truly is. I love you Ben & Sara Martin. I love you bros. All because of the love my God has for me.
